Inspired by the Norfolk Fishermen’s Gansey jumpers of the 19th and early 20th centuries, the Betty in Shetland wool is a chunky knitted crew neck cardigan/ jacket. It features an original “hailstone” stitch on the top half of the body and cosy oversized bucket pockets.
Made from 100% authentic Shetland wool and knitted in Nottinghamshire (Britain). Betty Martin was a Gansey knitter from Sheringham, Norfolk who knitted many of the fishermen’s Gansey jumpers. Her signature stitches were “chevrons” and “meshes” or fishing nets.
